The Best

New Years' resolutions are in the air, and while I have an ominous mountain of Christmas photographs that anxiously await editing I can't help but take a break to jot down a few of my favorite moments of 2012, and share what I'm looking forward to most in 2013.

Favorites of 2012

Getting my camera and joining the I-want-to-be-a-stellar-photographer-someday club.  Celebrating six years with the best man ever, and the one I love most.  Running my first half marathon- including the forgetting of the shoes, the freaking out before the gun went off, and the sweet-mother-I-actually-did-it after.  Camping in Glacier, my very favoritest park.  Seeing my sweet girl start kindergarten. Celebrating all the firsts and new beginnings with my beautiful kiddos.  Watching them play together and get over-the-top excited about Christmas.  Ringing in the New Year dancing with the love of my life.

Looking forward to in 2013

After ever-so-many years of it, finally being done being students- cannot wait for Ry to graduate!  The book club we'll be starting.  Learning more about photography and ever-closer to super cool.  Unlimited possibilities.  Running more races... heaven knows where.  Compiling recipe binder #4- Healthy Eats.  Taking better care of myself so I have more to give in my relationships.  Playing with my kids.  Laughing with my husband, and finding more opportunities to have fun and take life less seriously.

Muscle Love

My yoga instructor is an incredible, inspiring fifty-something Japanese woman that is about as hard core as they come. She also happens to teach a stellar spin class, and her legs...well, someday when I grow up I would weep with joy if mine could only look half as good as hers.  Sigh.

Anyway, I've been feeling pretty good about myself the last few classes as my balance improves (stayed upright for the entire tree pose today, thank you very much!), I'm becoming more flexible, and it seems I'm one of the few that can keep up with her- ignoring, of course, the minor detail that more than half the class qualifies for Sizzler's senior discount.
Ahem, like I was saying, I've been thinking I was pretty cool... smooth...fancy pants on her way to Yoga Master status, etc.  That is, until Ryan showed me this video.  Of course, this was right after I suggested he maybe should come up with a few pretzel nicknames, you know... just to try 'em out in case we'd need to adopt one or two in the future.

Umm, yeah- Never Mind!

Despite the healthy dose of humility it delivered, I just can't get over the beauty of watching these two move.  Granted, I do feel as though I'm intruding a bit on a private moment,
but I still can't bring myself to look away.
It's just gorgeous.

And good heavens, do I have a solid appreciation for
this woman's core!
