Nikki & Belle

One of the adventures we took the kids on over the Christmas break was a trip up to see the elk at Hardware Ranch.  An excursion that became even more fun when my sister, brother-in-law, and niece decided to come up for a visit.
It was a gorgeous, sunny day and absolutely FREEZING!  But we braved the Logan temps long enough to take a ride, lose Melese's phone over the side of the sleigh, and ooh and ahh over the animals.
Fortunately our driver, "Cheese-booger" (true story), was kind enough to double back so Ry could snatch it up before a wild animal snatched it up for lunch.
Phew!

As you'll see, the elk weren't the stars of the show,
what really got the kids' attention were the massive draft horses that pulled our sleigh out among them-
their names were Nikki & Belle.

Home again, home again, jiggedy-jig!

Joyeux Noel!

One of the best parts of being married to my incredible man is that he
loves Paris & french food almost as much as I do!
That being said, it wasn't hard for us to come up with our Christmas Eve menu;
we watched Disney's Ratatouille while making our own,
and served it up with some delicious crab & baguette.

Vive la France!

With full tummies we moved on to new pajamas,
Christmas stories that never fail to make us cry,
and a homemade treat for 'ole Saint Nick.

Marshmallow Men

Marshmallows are big around here.  In fact, the store of minis I keep in the cupboard for making fondant is constantly shuffled around like a key witness in a safe house.  I've never been a big fan, myself, but we do all sorts of things for the ones we love-
even suppress a wicked gag reflex to play a game of Chubby Bunny with the hubby.

Yep.
I love you that much, Babe.

Down by the Bay

One of the great Christmas adventures we took this year was a trip through Willard Bay's fantasy light display.
It's one of those places we've driven past repeatedly and had yet to experience-
and it was amazing!

A huge state park completely decked out in light displays, free horse-drawn wagon rides, s'more kits for roasting around the bonfire, and, of course,
a visit with the big man himself.

And, for the first time in my life, I tried a deep fried oreo:

Mmmehh.

Luckily neither that or the arctic temps could damper the holiday spirit!
